Beverly J. Zona
Beverly J. Zona, 78, of East Wallace Avenue passed away at 5:52 am on Wed., June 20, 2012 in her residence.
Beverly was born in New Castle on September 8, 1933 to the late Howard and Mary 'Henry' Forbes.
She married Ralph A. Zona, who preceded her in death on August 25, 1991.
Beverly had served as the Director of the Lawrence County Historical Society and had worked in Genealogy and History for the New Castle Public Library. She was also a member of a local writing group and had authored the book: "All The Summers Were Golden - A History of Cascade Park". Beverly helped produce "Oral Histories" for the Lawrence Co. Historical Society and assisted in the production of the DVDs. She loved history, genealogy, jazz music, and volunteering at the Historical Society.
She is survived by a daughter; Christine Zona of New York City, two sons; Patrick H. Zona of Idaho Falls, Idaho and Joshua Zona of Alexandria, Louisiana, 6 Grandchildren, and 9 Great Grandchildren.
In addition to her Parents and Husband, she was also preceded in death by her sister, Ruth Baldwin.
Visitation will be from 2 to 3 pm on Sunday, June 24th at Turner-Myers Funeral Home, 208 North Jefferson St., New Castle.
Services will follow at 3 pm in the funeral home and will be conducted by Rev. Adam Rodgers of the Stoneboro Presbyterian Church.
