Margaret D. Weller

Former State Road, Shenango Township, resident Former State Road, Shenango Township, resident Margaret D. Weller died the afternoon of Jan. 28, 2004, in Indian Creek Nursing Center.

Born in Pittsburgh, she was a daughter of the late Charles F. and Kathryn Kuester Adams.

She was married to Norman F. Weller. He died in May 1963.

Mrs. Weller was retired from the engineering department of Johnson Bronze Corp., and owned and operated the candy apple and cotton candy stand at Cascade Park.

She was a member of Liberty Grange and Emeline Rose Rebeccas 37, and was the last descendant to live in the Mershimer log cabin in Shenango Township.

Survivors include a daughter, Agnes M. Wilson of Volant; a son, Richard O. Weller of New Castle; seven grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Walter Adams.

Calling hours are 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Turner-Myers Funeral Home, 208 N. Jefferson St. A service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. The Rev. Dr. Joseph Hopkins of New Wilmington Presbyterian Church will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Hermon Cemetery.
