William C. Tindall, Sr.
William C. Tindall, Sr., 92, of Portersville passed away the afternoon of February 28 at the Haven Convalescent Home in New Castle.
William was born on February 5, 1924 in Shenango Twp. to the late Henry M. and Isabelle J. (Sankey) Tindall, Sr. He married the former Ruth Marybelle Leslie who preceded him in death on March 19, 2013. He was a member of Zion Baptist Church and enjoyed farming, raising ponies, and showing horses with his family. He was a former 4-H Leader. He'd worked as a meat cutter at the former A&P Grocery Store and operated the former Tindall's Arlington Market. He celebrated his 92nd birthday recently with his children.
Mr. Tindall is survived by a son; Bill Tindall, Jr. and Marlene of Gettysburg, daughters Jean Clyde of New Castle and Karen Enscoe and Warren of Portersville; seven grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a son-in-law, grandson, and one brother.
Visitation will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm Thursday (March 3) at Turner-Myers Funeral Home, 208 North Jefferson Street. Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Friday (March 4) at the Zion Baptist Church with one hour visitation prior to services. Dale and Doug Brenneman of Cowboys for Christ will officiate.
Burial will be in the Zion Baptist Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Zion Baptist Church Memorial Fund.
