Edna M. Snyder, 81, of Albert Street, formerly of Monroe Street, died at 8:15 p.m. Feb. 24, 2006, in Jameson Hospital.
Born Jan. 11, 1925, in Cranesville, Pa., she was a daughter of the late Clarence and Willmina Knox McConnell.
Mrs. Snyder was a retired supervisor, after 43 years of service, for the former Bell Telephone of Pennsylvania.
She was a member of the Bell Telephone Pioneers and Castle Clowns.
Mrs. Snyder was very active with her family and grandchildren.
She was a former member of Second Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, John B. and Peggy Snyder of New Castle; a brother, Chester McConnell of New Castle; a sister, June Gorgacz of New Castle; and two grandchildren, Rob Snyder and Michelle Snyder.
She was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Sean Snyder and Melinda Snyder; a brother, Harold McConnell; and four sisters, Vera O’Hara, Helen Cowles, Alda McConnell and Grace McConnell.
Visitation is 6 to 9 p.m. today at the Turner-Myers Funeral Home, 208 N. Jefferson St. A service will be conducted at 11 a.m. tomorrow at the funeral home. The Rev. Richard C. Nero, chaplain of Southern Care Hospice, will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Park Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Lawrence Unit of the American Cancer Society.
