Dominic A. Nuzzo

Dominic A. Nuzzo, 83, of South Ray Street passed away at 3:20 AM April 19, 2010 in Jameson Hospital.

Born in New Castle on February 3, 1927 to the late Antonio and Mary (DeRosa) Nuzzo, he married the former Betty J. Jones 61 years ago on May 15, 1948. Mr. Nuzzo had worked 37 years at Rockwell Intl. Axle Division as Lathe and Drill Press Operator and Production Layout prior to his retirement. He attended the 1st United Brethren Church and enjoyed going to flea markets, helping with auto repairs, family dinners, and his grandchildren.

Survivors include his Wife Betty at home, a Daughter and son-in-law; Judy A. and Patrick Daugherty of New Castle, and a Son and daughter-in-law; Donald A. and Barbara Nuzzo also of New Castle. Grandchildren include Michelle and husband Dave Bradley, Tammy and husband Ted Saad, Jaime Nuzzo-Bradley, Melissa Pierre, Michael and Jason Nuzzo, and Kevin Hall. He is also survived by 7 great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Nuzzo was preceded in death by 5 brothers; Augustine, Tony, Frank, and Ralph Nuzzo along with an infant brother, and 3 sisters; Julia Miller, Ruth Alessio, and Antionetta Nuzzo, as well as 1 great grandaughter.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM Wednesday (April 21) at the Turner-Myers Funeral Home, 208 North Jefferson Street.

Funeral services will be Thursday (April 22) at 11 AM at the funeral home and will be officiated by Rev. David Bell of the First United Brethren Church and Rev. Patrick Daugherty of the Atlantic Avenue United Brethren Church in Franklin, PA.

Interment will follow at Graceland Cemetery.

The family would ask that in lieu of flowers donation be sent to the Jameson Hospice.
