Andrew Murincsak, Jr.
Andrew Murincsak Jr., 81, of Shaffer Road, Slippery Rock Township, died the morning of March 18, 2006, in Ellwood City Hospital.
Born Nov. 16, 1924, in Roda, Va., he was a son of the late Andrew Sr. and Elizabeth Nagy Murincsak.
He was married to the former Gladys Stickle. She died April 23, 2004.
Mr. Murincsak was a retired postmaster at the Ellwood City Post Office, serving from 1949 to 1979. He was a graduate of the former Princeton High School. Mr. Murincsak served in World War II in the Army Air Corps. He was a member of the Polish Falcons Club in New Castle and the Lawrence County Beekeepers Association, and a former member of the Ellwood City Kiwanis Club, Ellwood City Chamber of Commerce and the Castlewood Road and Gun Club. Mr. Murincsak was an avid gardener, farmer and bowler. He was affiliated with Pilgrim Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Valeria Sacoulas of New Castle and Gayle Mezza of Virginia; and a son, Mark Murincsak of New Castle.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Robert Murincsak; a sister, Anna Wargo; and three brothers, John Murincsak, Frank Murincsak and Gabriel Murincsak.
Visitation is 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Turner-Myers Funeral Home, 208 N. Jefferson St.
A service will be conducted at 11 a.m. tomorrow at the funeral home. The Rev. Michael Nail, pastor of Pilgrim Baptist Church, will officiate.
Burial will be in Greenwood Methodist Cemetery.
