Edwin L. Moore

Edwin L. Moore, aged 85, of Harlansburg Road, New Castle died at the Butler Memorial Hospital at 5:10 PM on Sunday- July 6th.

Mr Moore was born in New Castle on November 15, 1922 to the late William and Marie 'Horne' Moore. He and his wife of 60 years, Clementina E. 'Guenther' Moore, were marrried in Pittsburgh on March 5, 1948 - she survives.

Mr Moore retired from Sharon Steel as a machinist. He was a member of the Neshannock Presbyterian Church, a former Deacon at Clen Moore Presbyterian Church, and also a US Navy Veteran of WWII where he served as a machinist's mate. Mr Moore was a member of the Mahoning-New Castle Lodge #243 F&AM, the Valley of New Castle Consistory, the York Bodies, and the Pittsburgh Shrine. He had also been a member of the VFW and American Legion.

In addition to his Wife, he is survived by one Daughter; Joan B. Ketchum of New Castle and three Sons; Dennis Moore of Mt Jackson, Edwin L. Moore, Jr. of New Castle, and Craig A. Moore of Beaver Falls, PA. He is also survived by Grandsons; Brandon Ketchum, Michael Moore, and Mark Moore and Granddaughters; Kristene Getz, Bethany Cash, Ashley Moore, and Victoria Moore. Great Grandchildren include James Patrick Getz, Jenna Getz, and Thomas Moore.

In addition to his Parents, Mr Moore was preceded in death by a younger Brother, Donald Moore.

Visitation will be 2 -to- 4 and 7 -to- 9 PM on Thursday (July 10th) at the Turner-Myers Funeral Home, 208 North Jefferson Street, New Castle, PA. At 9:00 PM, a Masonic Service will take place following visitation.

Funeral Services will be held Friday (July 11th) at the Neshannock Presbyterian Church at 11:00 AM and will be conducted by Rev. Gary Waguespak of the Church and assisted by Rev. Robert Strobel of the Evangel Community Church.

Interment will follow at the Neshannock Presbyterian Church Cemetery where Military Rites will be performed by the New Castle Area Honor Guard.
