Betty Ann McClymonds

Betty Ann McClymonds 90, of Shenango Presbyterian Senior Center entered into rest at 7:50 AM Saturday October 25, 2014 surrounded by her family.

Betty was born to Ralph and Anna (Wirsh) Morford on April 8, 1924 in Youngstown, Ohio.

Betty graduated from Rayen High School and went on to work as a secretary at Covington Elementary School in Youngstown. She also was employed at 20th Century Restaurant (home of the spinning bowl salad) as a hostess. She continued her young life working for Dr. Lowet in Youngstown. Later in life she worked at Howard Johnsons and Shannon's Candy in Mercer, Pa.

She married her current husband Robert McClymonds on October 22, 1982 and moved to Florida where she enjoyed golfing, square dancing, sewing and crocheting. Many years later Betty and Bob moved back to the New Castle area.

Betty is survived by one sister, Jane Cwynar (and Frank) of New Castle, Pa., three loving children, Bill Long (and Sharon) of Austintown, Oh., Bonnie (Fawcett, Sykes) Lambert (and Don) of Poland, Oh., Brenda (Long) Ward (and Jerry) of Greenville, Pa.

Betty was blessed with 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her daughter Beverly Ann (Long) McCartney, one sister, Ruth Hall, and her 1st husband William Long.

Family and friends will be received from 3-6 pm Tuesday, October 28. Services will follow at 6 pm at Turner-Myers Funeral Home, 208 North Jefferson St. and will be conducted by Pastor Jeff Harter, chaplain for Family Hospice.

Interment will be in Graceland Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial gifts in Betty's name to Family Hospice and Palliative Care in Hermitage.
