Clara E. Lukehart

Former Nesbitt Road and Randolph Street resident Clara E. Lukehart, 90, died the evening of Jan. 6, 2006, in Jameson Place.

She was born Dec. 1, 1915, in New Castle, a daughter of the late Lewis and Emma Renhardt Rice.

She first married to Lloyd E. Wear. He died in 1965.

She subsequently married Earl Lukehart. He died in 1988.

Mrs. Lukehart was a retired bookkeeper who had worked for Bailey Oil Co. and Scott Pontiac, both in New Castle.

She was a member of the Rebecca Lodge, Elderberries and the Ladies Auxiliary of American Legion Post 343.

Mrs. Lukehart was a member of St. Johnís Lutheran Church.

She is survived by two stepsons, William L. Lukehart and Richard C. Lukehart, both of New Castle.

In addition to her parents and her husbands, she was preceded in death by a sister, Martha Yoder; and three brothers, Elmer Rice, Wilbur Rice and Floyd Rice.

There will be no visitation.

A service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Johnís Lutheran Church on Highland Avenue. The Rev. Thomas McCurdy of the church will officiate. Burial will be in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Zelienople.

Arrangements are by the Turner-Myers Funeral Home, 208 N. Jefferson St.
