Janet R. Hunt
Slippery Rock Township resident Janet Ruth Hunt, 76, of Old Butler Road, died the morning of Nov. 14, 2008, in Overlook Nursing Home, New Wilmington.
Born Oct. 9, 1932, in New Castle, she was a daughter of the late Henry G. and Myrtle M. Smith McEwen. She married Robert Walter Hunt on June 6, 1952. He survives.
Mrs. Hunt was a retired Bell Telephone operator. She was a member of Faith Country Chapel.
In addition to her husband, survivors include one daughter, Kayann H. Slack of Pittsburgh; three sons, Keith E. Hunt of New Castle, Craig R. Hunt of Butler and Kirk James Hunt of Volant; two sisters, Joyce Must of New Castle and Lynn Smail of Pittsburgh; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four brothers Arthur McEwen, Eugene McEwen, Dale McEwen and Delbert McEwen.
Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. tomorrow at the Turner-Myers Funeral Home, 208 N. Jefferson St. A service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at Faith Country Chapel, with the Rev. Brian Hammond, pastor, and the Rev. Erwin Pollman, assistant pastor, officiating.
Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
