Roger W. Heltzel
Roger W. Heltzel, 83, of Squaw Run Road, Ellwood City passed away the morning of March 24 at the Edison Manor in New Castle.
Roger was born March 24, 1932 in Butler, Indiana to the late Orville and Hazel "Grawcock" Heltzel. He served in the Air Force as a Cryptographer in the Korean Conflict. Roger was a graduate of Ohio State University and then Franklin University's School of Law. He practiced as an attorney in Ohio prior to moving to Pennsylvania. He married the former Mary Jane Eberly who preceded him in death. In 1992 he married the former Margaret G. Booher Mershimer who survives him at home. He attended the Pathways Church in Chippewa, PA.
In addition to his wife Margaret, he is survived by his children; Ninette (David) Cox of Oriskany, VA., Jeri (Jeff) Field of Newport News, VA. and Suzette Heltzel (Alex Lopez) of Columbus, OH., his Step-Children; Joann (Guy) Curran and Doug (Evelyn Welle) Mershimer both of Ellwood City, 10 Grandchildren and 3 Great Grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and first wife, he is preceded in death by 2 Brothers and 3 Sisters.
A memorial service will be held in Columbus, Ohio at a later date.
