Naomi M. Floyd

Naomi M. Floyd, 76, of Campbell, Calif., died at 7:40 a.m. Feb. 9, 2006, in Good Samaritan Hospital, San Jose, Calif.

Born Feb. 17, 1929 in Detroit, she was a daughter of the late Norman C. and Mildred M. Ferry Johnston.

She was married to Glenn E. Floyd. He survives.

Mrs. Floyd retired at age 65 as owner and operator of a day care center for 30 years. She had also worked at Airway Luggage in Ellwood City as an assembly line employee.

She enjoyed line and square dancing, crocheting and knitting.

In addition to her husband, survivors include a daughter, Janice Vowles of Campbell; a son, Glenn Floyd Jr. of Campbell; a brother, Hartley Johnston of New Castle; a sister, Mabel DeLong of San Jose; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Norman “Chuck” Johnston and Warner Johnston; a sister, Margaret “Peggy” White; and an infant son.

Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Turner-Myers Funeral Home, 208 N. Jefferson St. A service will be conducted at 11 a.m. tomorrow at the funeral home. Ted Walker will officiate. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.
