Former Euclid Avenue resident Katherine Eve, 98, died the morning of Sept. 25, 2006, in Jameson Care Center.
Born Aug. 29, 1908, in New Castle, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Sara Muller Eve.
She was a retired bookkeeper and had worked at the former Jay Weaver Motors and Pennzoil Oil Co. Miss Eve attended New Castle Business College. She was a member of the New Castle Women's Club, Alliance of Transylvania Saxons 27, Eastern Star 105, Wimodausis and the Prime Timers of Clen-Moore Presbyterian Church. Miss Eve was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church.
Survivors include a nephew, Jack Eve and his wife, Janet, of Charlotte, N.C.; Becky Nickum of Pittsfield, Mass., the wife of the late Bill Nickum, who was Miss Eve's nephew; and several other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her stepmother, Regina Eve; a brother, Joseph S. Eve; and a sister, Sara Nickum Chain.
Visitation is 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Turner-Myers Funeral Home, 208 N. Jefferson St. A service will be conducted at 2 p.m. tomorrow at St. John's Lutheran Church. The Rev. Thomas A. McCurdy of the church will officiate. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
