Clyde L. Copper

Former Princeton resident Clyde L. Copper, 87, of Jameson Care Center died the morning of Aug. 4, 2005, in the center.

Born Aug. 31, 1917, in Slippery Rock Township, he was a son of the late John C. and Fannie C. Jones Copper.

He married the former Clara E. Shaffer on Oct. 24, 1936. She survives.

Mr. Copper was a retired corrosion tester for Columbia Gas. He also had worked at the Ellwood City Works of U.S. Steel and was a farmer in Princeton.

He was an avid gardener.

In addition to his wife, survivors include a daughter, Clara Mae Gross of Chambersburg, Pa.; a son, James D. Copper of New Castle; a sister, Edna Dolly White of Lewisville, Texas; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother, George Copper.

Calling hours are 4 to 7 p.m. tomorrow at the Turner-Myers Funeral Home, 208 N. Jefferson St. A service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. The Rev. James Wigley, former pastor of Princeton Memorial Presbyterian Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.
