Clara E. Copper

Mrs. Clara E. Copper, 88, died August 8th at the Jameson Care Center. Formerly of Princeton, she was born March 17, 1920 in Slippery Rock Twp. to the late Grant and Mary 'Glasser' Shaffer. She was married to Clyde Copper on October 24, 1936. He preceded her in death on August 4, 2005.

Mrs. Copper retired from the Lawrence Co. Vocational-Technical School as cafeteria manager. She'd been a member of the Shenango Twp. Volunteer Fire Department's Women's Auxillary and a life-long member of the Princeton Memorial Presbyterian Church where she also sang in the choir. Her hobbies included gardening and crocheting.

Survivors include a son James Copper and wife Kathy of New Castle, a daughter Clara Mae Gross of Fayetteville, PA, and a bother James Shaffer and sister Grace Copper, both of New Castle. Also surviving are four grandchildren: Doug Gross and wife Lynn of Olney, MD., Jeff Gross and wife Tanja of Mt. Airy, MD., Kari Piper and husband Ken of Wesley Chapel, FL., and Kristen Shearer and husband Mike of Grove City, PA.; as well as three great grandchildren: Kayla Piper, Colin Shearer, and Jennifer Gross.

In addition to her Parents and Husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters; Myrtle Jones and Mildred Munnell, three brothers; Jesse and Everett Shaffer, and Russell Glasser, and son-in-law; Harry Gross.

Visitation will be 5 - 8 pm Tuesday- August 12 at the Turner-Myers Funeral Home, 208 North Jefferson St. where the funeral will also take place at 11:00 am on Wednesday- August 13. Officiating will be the Reverend Mr. Dennis L. Bupp, Chaplain of Jameson Care Center. Interment will follow at Graceland Cemetery.
