Elizabeth Booher, 91, of Jameson Place died the morning of Jan. 20, 2006, at Jameson Hospital.
Born Jan. 23, 1914, in New Castle, she was a daughter of the late Paul and Anna Kieltsch Artz.
She was married to Carl Booher. He preceded her in death.
Mrs. Booher served as a nurse anesthesiologist in the Army from 1941 to 1962. She retired with the rank of major.
She was stationed in England during the Normandy Invasion of June 1944. She also served in Korea during that war, in Japan and various stations in the United States.
Mrs. Booher graduated from New Castle High School in 1932 and Lankenau Hospital in Philadelphia with a degree in nursing.
She enjoyed Italian cut-out work and bowling. She also was a volunteer at various hospitals.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Anna Shira and Sara Dangle, and two nephews, Robert Dangle and Richard Dangle.
There are no calling hours or service. Burial will be in Castle View Memorial Gardens.
