Arthur E. "Gene" Bolinger
Former Princeton resident Arthur E. "Gene" Bolinger, 83, of Golden Hill Nursing Home died the morning of May 11, 2006, in the nursing home.
Born June 30, 1922, in Avonmore, Pa., he was a son of the late William F. and Edna Dunmier Bolinger. He married the former Vera Schall in 1941. She survives.
He was a retired funeral director at the former Robert A. Myers Home for Funerals and Turner-Myers Funeral Home for 59 years. He was also a former Lawrence County deputy coroner. Mr. Bolinger was a 1942 graduate of the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science. He was a World War II Army veteran. Mr. Bolinger was a member of Williamson Lodge 531 F&AM, Valley of New Castle Consistory and Legion of Honor. He was a member of Princeton Memorial Presbyterian Church.
In addition to his wife, survivors include a daughter, Karen Shaffer of Sagamore Hills, Ohio; three sons, Donald Bolinger, Dennis Bolinger and Kevin Bolinger, all of New Castle; a sister, Betty King of Edmon, Pa.; nine grandchildren; and sixteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, William Bolinger.
Visitation is 6 to 9 p.m. tomorrow at the Turner-Myers Funeral Home, 208 N. Jefferson St. A service will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. The Rev. Cheryl Waguespack will officiate.
Burial will be in Mount Hermon Cemetery.
