Robert E. Bartsch
Robert E. Bartsch, 78, of Cambridge Street, Neshannock Township passed away at 2:01 a.m. May 17, 2009, in Jameson Hospital.
Born in New Castle on March 1, 1931, he was a son of the late Edward and Leta "Marie" Shaw Bartsch. Mr. Bartsch was a retired businessman and real estate agent. He was the owner-operator of the Bartsch and Miller Car Washes and had sold real estate for the J.C. Horton Agency. He had been an avid golfer and was an Air Force veteran. He had belonged to various business service organizations. He was a lifelong member of the Highland Presbyterian Church, where he was a former deacon and often did visitations with the shut-ins and hospitalized members.
Mr. Bartsch is survived a daughter and son-in-law, Jean Ann and Benjamin Palumbo of Canfield, Ohio; a sister, Jean Bartsch-Miller of New Castle; and two grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister.
Visitation will take place one hour prior to a memorial service at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Turner-Myers Funeral Home, 208 N. Jefferson St. Officiating will be the Rev. Dr. William A. Blacksmith, pastor of Highland Presbyterian Church.
