M. Jean Ayers
M. Jean Ayers, 72, of Matthews Way, Union Township, died the morning of Wednesday, March 9, 2005, in Jameson Hospital.
Born Jan. 11, 1933, in New Castle, she was a daughter of Charles A. and Helen F. Lennig Brickner. Her father survives. Her mother died Jan. 14, 2005.
She was married to David E. Ayers. He died Dec. 14, 1998.
Mrs. Ayers was retired as greenhouse manager at the Williamsburg Pottery in Williamsburg, Va., and was co-owner, with her husband, of Ayers Statuary.
She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church.
In addition to her father, survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Deborah J. and William Houk of Austintown, Ohio; a son and daughter-in-law, David A. and Susan Ayers of Cleona, Pa.; three sisters, Joan Robison of New Castle, Janice Bova of Niwot, Colo., and Joyce Stiffler of Longmont, Colo.; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow at the Turner-Myers Funeral Home, 208 N. Jefferson St. A service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. The Rev. Barbara Moore of Wesley United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.
