Andrew A. Sorbo, Jr.
Andrew A. Sorbo, Jr., 82 of 7th Street, Mahoningtown, passed away the morning of August 3 at Jameson Hospital.
He was born in New Castle on July 2, 1933 to the late Andrew A. and Josephine "Naples" Sorbo. He married the former Carole Ann Coulter who preceded him in death October 25, 1998.
Mr. Sorbo was a retired truck driver, having worked for the former Shenango China and New Castle Foundry. He had also been a driver for the Association for the Blind. He served as a Corporal in the Army from 1953 to 1955. He was an avid hunter, fisher, and Shenango High School sports fan.
Survivors include his sons; Andrew W. Sorbo of Wampum and Brian P. Sorbo, Sr. and wife Janet of Tampa, FL., 8 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, brothers; Anthony and Angie Sorbo of Coudersport, PA., Joseph and Donna Sorbo of New Castle, sisters; Adelaid Strayer of Satellite Beach, FL., Ellen and Michael Aiello of New Castle, Edna Mihok of New Castle, sister-in-law; Betty Sorbo of New Castle, companion Marion Beaven, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his step-mother; Antoinette "Flato" Sorbo, a daughter; Diane L. Sorbo in 1971, a brother; John Sorbo and sister; JoAnn Conrad.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 6 to 8 pm at Turner-Myers Funeral Home, 208 North Jefferson Street. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11 am at the funeral home and will be conducted by Pastor Bill Whisel of New Hope Family Worship Center.
