Agnes J. "Chooky" Myers

Agnes J. "Chooky" Myers, 96 of Beckford Street passed away at 4:10 am on Friday (April 15) at the Golden Hill Nursing Home.

Chooky was born in New Castle on July 9, 1919 to the late Willard and Eva White Shaffer. She retired from Jameson Hospital as a switchboard operator. She was a 1937 graduate of the former Princeton Highschool and a member of Neshannock Presbyterian Church. She married Charles R. Myers who preceded her in death on July 1, 1996.

Survivors include her son; Thomas W. and Mary Lee Myers of Poland, OH., daughters; Nancy J. Myers of New Castle and Elizabeth A. and Michael Fesmire of Sanborn, NY., four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother; Everett Fishburn, and sisters; Anna Mitten and Ethel Nimmo.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm on Monday (April 18) at Turner-Myers Funeral Home, 208 North Jefferson Street. Funeral services will be at 11 am on Tuesday at the funeral home, conducted by Rev. Douglas Runyan of New Bedford Evangelical Presbyterian Church.

Interment will be in Neshannock Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
